Portraits, Pet Portraits, Flitten Paintings
Laura Von Stetina paints commissions of customer's cats,
dogs, birds and of course many times of the customers themselves. Artwork is done in either oil, acrylic or pencil, whichever
best fits the job requirements and price constraints. If the customer
is local she does her own photography, otherwise she works from photographs supplied by the customer. The examples below show
the stages of several commissioned pieces of artwork and the related source material. Before the final piece is started,
an email is sent to the customer containing a rough sketch for approval. A scan of the finished piece is emailed upon completion.
If you would like more information, please write to us at vsart@tampabay.rr.com . Laura will get back to you with estimates of pricing and time frame and also answer any questions you might have.

Te quiero in the Garden, oil
In Laura's words: "The painting below was a challenging
commission, and one I enjoyed immensely. The customer asked me to design a painting of her Ragdoll kitten to fill a very lovely
and unusual 8 3/4" x 4" frame containing 9 openings. She sent me a tracing of the frame and a photo of her
kitten Te quiero. The kitten was to be portrayed as if he was standing on a window sill in front of a garden filled with red
hibiscus. Without having the frame itself to check for fit, it was difficult to ensure that all of the design elements lined
up perfectly with the openings in the frame. As you can see below, the result was a perfect fit."

Customer's Response:
Dear Laura, The *beautiful* painting arrived today, it really
takes your breath away! Thanks for advising me to use silicon. I purchased some last week, so I was able to hang the
painting in its intended spot already. The corner looks awesome now! I attached a scan so you get an idea how
it looks framed. I hope you will show the finished Te quiero painting and all its earlier stages on your website so your website visitors
and other customers are also able to admire this great art of work though it certainly wasn't so easy to
made it with just a rough sketch of the frame's outline and my scanned Te quiero photo. But the painting is just
perfect and I am very happy about it! Renate, Germany

OH....I LOVE it! This is beautiful Laura! You are
WONDERFUL!!!! Susan
Aquatic Flittens, Acrylic:
The source photos showed the
two cats snoozing in the sink, indicating that if these cats were flittens they would be aquatic ones.
The sink was changed into the lily pad that keeps them high and dry. After all, even though these flittens
love water, they are also cat-like, and will always go out of their way to stay dry!
